Produced by Canada-based Phree876 record label, Guidance said the song's message is realistic as well as humorous.
"You know, sometimes you girlfriend will tell you to stay with her but you let friends drive you out the house and get you into trouble. So it's really telling the youths to take heed. While promoting Girlfriend Yaad a Dweet, Guidance is also laying the tracks for his upcoming debut album.
"I am taking my time as this is my first album. I want it to be a success so my team and I are carefully picking the tracks. We are in no rush to complete it hence there is no set release date. We are just hoping that the fans will love it and it will open a new market for me," he said.
Guidance (real name Donovan Walker) is no stranger to the music. Emerging on the scene over a decade ago, the Rastafarian singer got his breakthrough from the single Love What You Got in 2005. His other singles includes Life is a Journey and These People too Bad.
He then took a break from the industry.
"I took a moment to cool out and observe the market. For a little while, everyone was doing three months and two months songs and that's what the selectors were somewhat embracing. There was a crossover of the beat therefore I found it a bit challenging to get a breakthrough here locally. But I am back," he said.
Among his upcoming releases are I Remember You and Sunday No Wait on Sunday.
